May 23-24, 2006
Stanford University
General Information
The Spring 2006 meeting of the VAC Consortium—a partnership with NVAC, Industry, University, and Government members collaborating to solve national security problems for DHS—was held at Stanford University, the first established Regional Visualization and Analytics Center (RVAC). The meeting began at Noon on Tuesday, May 23, and ended at 5:30PM May 24. An RVAC PI Meeting was held on May 22.
Speakers from the recently announced RVACs detailed the mission of their programs and reported on initial research projects (presentations are on the Meeting Agenda page). The RVACs are an integral part in the success of NVAC and the universities are already creating impressive work in visual analytics. This meeting provided an opportunity to learn about this research and meet the investigators and students behind the science.
