Visualization & Analytics Centers (VAC) Consortium
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is challenged with integrating security, enforcement and response operations to protect the nation by identifying threats and developing a national resiliency. The National Visualization and Analytics Center™ (NVAC) is chartered to lead cross agency, academic and industry efforts to help DHS meet these challenges.

Complementary partners working in collaboration will ensure success of DHS/NVAC through implementation of the best solutions. To facilitate this collaboration, the NVAC Consortium was created.
The Consortium provides real and reciprocal value to its members and to DHS. Consortium members gain unique and valuable insight into the activities of NVAC program including the Regional Visualization and Analytics Centers (RVAC) formed at major University campuses. Participation in conferences, forums and workshops and connection to the community of users influences the direction for both development and deployment of solutions and future generations of information and visual analytics.
Besides DHS, other government agencies, state and industry stakeholders own aspects of the challenge to terrorism and benefit from the technologies and tools developed by NVAC. Coordination of related activities is the responsibility of the representatives from these organizations. The activities of the Consortium promote a high-level of information exchange between NVAC/RVAC science and technologies and all suppliers of information and visual analytics and technology solutions. This relationship recognizes the substantial investments and market presence by all participants and encourages leveraged investments.

“Thank you for your invitation to participate in the National Visualization and Analytics Center's Spring 2008 Consortium meeting. It was quite an honor to be invited to attend; and even greater to participate. It was amazing to see some of the projects that are underway in the world of visual analytics. In addition, it is reassuring to know that the combination of government, academia and industry have joined forces to bring science and technology to increase the missions of local, regional, and national security. I'm glad you're on our side. As an analyst from the world of local law enforcement, it was enlightening to see a bigger picture and the far-reaching world of visual analytics.”
